ACCOMMODATION
Plus Camping Girasole offers a unique hostel experience for your stay in Tuscany. We have all budgets covered with these accommodation options:
CABINS
Mixed/shared dormitory (triples) with an ensuite. These are modern, comfortable sized rooms that sleep 3 people and come with their own shower and toilet, storage space, bedding and electrical outlets.
CABINS PRIVATE
Private twins with an ensuite. Modern, comfortable rooms that sleep 2 people and come with their own shower, toilet, storage space, bedding and electrical outlets. Individuals can only book a private bed as a twin.
HOUSE TENTS
Private/shared 2 person house tents. Comfortable and roomy the house tents are lockable and all linen is provided.
Tent pitches are also available by emailing the campsite directly.
FACILITIES AVAILABLE APRIL-NOVEMBER
SWIMMING POOLS (close end september)
There are 2 pools in the lower complex with a hydroslide and plenty of sunloungers to bathe in the Tuscan sun. The crew organise pool volleyball and acquasize sessions if you’re feeling particularly energetic or alternatively you can sit and watch with a gelati. Our hours are 10:00-18:00 during the low season and 09:00-19:00 from June to end of August. We offer a towel lending service at €1.50 per towel.
INDOOR POOL
If you’re keen to keep doing the lengths the heated pool operates in the low season from 10:00am-18:00 and from 09:00-22:00 from June to the end of August. We also offer a towel lending service at €1.50 per towel.
WATER PARK
Laze in the lagoon, sunbathe or grab a tube-ring and head for the hydroslide. Located in the top campsite the waterpark has its own poolside bar with snacks and drinks, the crew organises cool bbqs and live music during the busy months. Open from 10:00-18:00 in the low season and 09:00-19:00 in June, July and August. We also offer a towel lending service at €1.50 per towel.
FITNESS CENTRE/GYM/SAUNA/HAIRDRESSER(close end October)
If you’ve overindulged in the gelati and bisteccas maybe this is the place to work it all off again. Fitness instructors are on hand to develop your own program in our fully equipped gym. Or you can take the soft option and just indulge in the saunas, steam rooms, massage and get a haircut while you're at it.
SUPERMARKETS
These are located in the lower campsite and upper campsites with a huge range of international goodies and fresh local produce. All the essentials are available from cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks, fruit and veg, groceries, toiletries, film supplies and developing. Everything to keep you going.
BAZAAR & GIFT SHOP
Searching for postcards, stamps, phone cards and international newspapers? Look no further. See also our huge range of gifts, clothes, sports equipment and souvenirs available. You also get your washing machine and dryer tokens here.
INFORMATION POINT
All the information on local events, places to see, opening times, prices and bookings is found here. You can book your excursions and day trips as well as find maps of the area. The Info-Point is open every day from 08.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. and from 04.00 p.m. until 11.00 p.m.
INTERNET
These are located in the main café where you can catch up on the goss from home as well as book your onward travel and accommodation. More terminals are available at the Info Point.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
There are several locations around the campsite with large 8kg washing and drying machines to get you looking your best again. Tokens available from the bazaar.
MONEY MATTERS
Money changing Facilities are available at reception. AN ATM is on hand for those wishing to withdraw cash.
The camping village operates on a chipcard system. You will be issued with a card which you then charge with cash. It operates as a debit card, so when you wish to make buy a beer, newspaper or buy dinner, just hand over the card and the monetary value of the bill will be deducted from the card.
Cards can only be charged by using cash. At the end of your stay, if there is any remaining money left on the card this money will be refunded to you.
DAY TRIPS
Excursions depart daily for various Tuscan highlights such as Pisa, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano. These medieaval towns boast some of Tuscany’s finest examples of architecture and history, great for shopping and browsing, and you can’t forget the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
SCOOTER HIRE
Scooter hire is available through the Info Point for half day, full day and weekly rentals. Rental includes helmet and insurance. Explore the numerous wine (7000 at last count) and olive oil producers, stunning scenery and hilltop restaurants that fill the area.
HORSE RIDING
One way to see the stunning countryside at an enjoyable pace and let someone else do all the walking is from the back of a horse. Let our guides take you through some of the local surroundings, with horses for all levels of experience and treks of varying duration.
TUSCAN KITCHEN
Your chance to make it just like the locals. The half day course is a great introduction to the simplicity and flavours of Tuscan cooking. Learn the secrets to create authentic mouthwatering dishes that will impress the folk back home on your return.
LA CANTINA DI VILLA NORCENNI
Man cannot live by beer alone. If your wine tastebuds need a little polishing up visit the wine cellar to get the best information and education to learn what all the fuss is about. Wines are available by the glass until you find the one you like. Sit out under the stars or test your skills over the chess board.

Figline Valdarno is 2.5km away and hosts a local market on Tuesday mornings. Other local markets in villages along the Strada Chiantigana inlcude Greve and Panzano.

IL GIRASOLE (April-October)
Menu choices are exceptional from delicious antipasti, tasty pastas, sensational salads, traditional tuscan dishes to the famous mixed grills and bistecca. Even the range of scrummy wood fired pizzas will have your head spinning. Try one of the huge selection of local wines. To avoid disappointment always book early especially during busy times.
LO STRETTOIO (April-September)
For even more choice we offer a range of international dishes and every week there are theme dinners with highlights of Tuscan cuisine such as ‘Serata Toscana’ which is a variety of hot and cold traditional dishes. Wood fired pizzas are also available. Open every day for dinner from 06.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.
SANT ANDREA (April-September)
Our latest restaurant addition offers the tradtional menu, weekly theme dinners as well as the must try ‘Italian Grand buffet’ offering a range of fish and meat dishes. Dine either inside or on the hilltop terrace overlooking the tuscan countryside. You can also sit back and relax with a cold one on the terrace from the bar or catch up with mates on the internet. Tasty take-aways and woodfired pizzas are also available.
IL NOCE TAKEAWAY (April-September)
Socks and t-shirt still going round the tumble dryer? Grab a bite to eat from the takeaway, either take it back to the laundry or sit out under the cool pergola and enjoy the view. A great selection of the usual burgers, fries, daily specials and woodfired pizzas.
CAFE & BAR (April-October)
The best authentic italian creamy cappuccinos and espressos this side of the black stump. Open for italian style breakfasts, coffee and a brioche, other snacks available such as toasted sandwiches throughout the day. Catch a game on the maxi screen or take yourself outside and soak up the sun on the terrace.
After dinner you can sink a few pool balls or sit out under the stars, listen to live music and digest as the café stays open ‘til late before heading downstairs to the nightclub.

Our awesome DJ keeps you on your toes til 3am with the latest sounds from Europe, UK and the states, you can take advantage of the welcome drinks offers and regular specials for backpackers. Try our famous ‘Girasole’ cocktail to really get the party started!

You cannot escape the tempting selection of home made gelati here, and it is mandatory to have one gelato per day during your stay in Italy. Sit and chill out to some cool tunes with your favourite flavour, or try one of the best shakes in Italy , a crepe or ice cold fruit frappe. Just what the doctor ordered after a hard day taking in the sights of Tuscany. Bar snacks and other alcoholic beverages are also available.
