For those wanting to experience Rome we run daily trips into the city centre allowing you to do the sightseeing thing and then return each evening. The camping village is set around 40km from the centre of Rome but is accessible by train in conjunction with our minibus service.

Plus Camping I Pini has the typical hostel services you’d find in a hostel in Rome - internet, laundry, restaurant, bar and information point but it also has a more laid back, family environment for those wishing to escape the hustle of the city. A great place to recharge those tourist muscles and soak up some sun. You can relax by the pool, chill out in the garden bar listening to live music, or try something a bit more energetic on the tennis court, beach volley ball court or football pitch.

The campsite is situated on a hilltop with great views over the Tevere Valley to the north of Rome, surrounded by an ancient pine and oak forest that is ideal for trekking or mountain biking.

Plus Camping I Pini can also arrange your day trips into Rome with their private shuttle bus, or a day out to the gardens of Villa D’Este at Tivoli, or the townships of Orvieto, Montefiascone and Pompeii. We have 24hr check in and rooms are available from 1pm.f you are leaving late feel free to put your bags in the lockup to catch a few extra rays by the pool. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS ROME

The Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps, the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, the Forum, the Coliseum, Gladiators, Emperors, vespas, Michelangelo, Prada, St Peters and the Pope. An epic historical era for everyone, whether it’s fashion, art, history, Romans or religion Rome has it all. During high season our minibuses depart at 9am and 11am dropping you into the centre of town where you can begin your explorations and will pick you up at the end of the day at 5pm/7pm. During low season one bus departs at 10am returning at 6pm. Return tickets available from reception.

GARDENS OF VILLA D'ESTE, TIVOLI

Villa D’Este, masterpiece of the Italian Garden, is included in the UNESCO world heritage list. With its impressive concentration of fountains, nymphs, grottoes, plays of water, and music, it constitutes a much-copied model for European gardens in the mannerist and baroque styles. Group tours must be booked in advance or you can hire an audio guide and take yourself. Take the train to Stazione Tivoli on the Roma-Pescara line.

ORVIETO

The township is 125km north of Rome on the Roma-Milano train line. This settlement has its origins going back 3000 years and casts a spectacular skyline on approach rising 1000 feet above the Paglia valley. The town boasts one of the best examples of Italian gothic architecture with its spectacular cathedral. If you arrive at the base of the city walls there is a funicular to get you to the top without too much exertion.

MONTEFIASCONE

Built on the volcanic rim of lake Bolsena this is also another impressive statuesque settlement standing 600m above sea level. Located north of Viterbo, and 110km from Rome it was originally inhabited by the Etruscans. It now boasts some great wines and also stunning architecture. Take the train line Roma-Orvieto and get off at Stazione Montefiascone.
